2008 YOUTH MEMBERSHIP CLASS

Sixth Grade:

Taylor Paige A is the oldest daughter of Bob and Cindy. She has an older sister Grace and a younger brother Alex. She attends A. I. Root Middle School. Her favorite class is Language Arts. She’s a flyer on her competitive cheer team. One thing she likes about church is “taking communion, helping other people, working with the Cleveland Christian Home and the youth group.” One hope she has for the future is “to go to the Olympics and compete.” Amy F is her Mentor. Her prayer partner is Kay Kaurman. Paige was confirmed. 

Lia F is the oldest child of William and Amy. She has a younger brother Liam. She attends A. I. Root Middle School. Her favorite classes are Writing and Gym. She participate is Ohio Cheer Explosion. She likes shopping and “Webkins”. One thing she likes about church is “everybody is really nice.” One hope I have for the future is “that I can go to a good college and get a good job.” Estella is her Mentor. Her prayer partner is Kaaren George. Lia was confirmed in her faith.

Kyle H is the youngest son of Kevin and Estella. His brother is Bryan. He likes his dirt bike, BMX, soccer and basketball. He attends Claggett Middle School. His favorite class is Social Studies. One thing he likes about church is “Pastor Teresa’s stories, especially the one about snowballs.” One hope I have for the future is “to meet Travis Pastrana, #199 (the guy who did the double back flip on his dirt bike.) Trent A is his Mentor. His prayer partner is Tom George. Kyle was baptized.

Benjamin Amos K is the oldest child of Kevin and Michelle. He has two younger sisters, Rachael and Jordan. He attends A. I. Root Middle School. His favorite class is math. He’s very gifted and can finish a Rubik's cube in an amazing time. He likes to play baseball, soccer, and collect baseball cards. One thing he likes about church is “I like Sunday School classes and the music”. One hope I have for the future is “that I have a good family and live a good life.” Dave W is his Mentor. His prayer partner is Bev Walter. He was baptized.

Jacob Michael Jerry M is the son of Jennifer. He has a twin Jared and a younger brother Brennan. He likes to play soccer and football. He attends Cloverleaf Upper Elementary School. His favorite class is math. One thing he likes about church is “all of it.” One hope I have for the future is “to attend OSU and be a football player and win a few championships.” Jacob’s Mentor is Peter M. His prayer partner is Romy Groves. He was confirmed.

Jared Michael Paul M is the son of Jennifer. He has a twin Jacob and a younger brother Brennan. He likes to swim. He attends Cloverleaf Upper Elementary School. His favorite class is math. He likes to go outside, watch TV (military channel), and play XBox 360. One thing he likes about church is “coming here and learning so many different things about God.” One hope I have for the future is “to make the travel soccer team again.” Chris P is his Mentor. His prayer partner is Susan Chaplin. He was baptized. 

Bryan Thomas P is the youngest son of Leslie and Ted. He has an older sister Erin. He likes to swim, play golf and baseball. He attends Wooster Middle School. His favorite class is math. He has a Yorkshire terrier named “Snickers.” One thing he likes about church is “learning about God, Christian faith, and where you are coming from (heritage). One hope he has for the future is “climbing Mt. Everest.” Ron F is his Mentor. His prayer partner is Norma Watterman. He was baptized on Sunday, May 11.

Christian DeWain P is the oldest child of Betsy and Justin. He has two sisters, Gwen and Kate. He likes to play basketball, cello and football. He loves driving go carts, and playing outside. He attends Claggett Middle School. His favorite class is Social Studies. One thing he likes about church is “no matter if you mess up people don’t laugh at you or make fun of you, and it’s a place where I feel closer to God.” One hope he has for the future is “that I get a good job, and a good house, and do what I can to afford a family of my own.” His Mentor is Brad K. His prayer partner is Bobbi Way. He was baptized.

Jami Lynn W is the oldest daughter of Larry W and Terry T. She also has a “soon to be” step mom Christine Cox. She has a little brother Jacob. She likes to play softball and repel. She attends Buckeye Elementary School. One thing she likes about church is “I learn a lot.” One hope she has for the future is “that I will at least achieve one of my goals---such as being a fire fighter like my Dad.” Her Mentor is Kevin H. Her prayer partner is Val Zack. Jami was baptized.

Carolyn Arlene Y is the youngest daughter of Brenda and Tom. She has two older sisters Jacqueline and Madeline. She attends A. I. Root Middle School. Her favorite class is Math. She loves to swim, go places with her friends and spend time going over to her cousins. One thing she likes about church is, “I get to learn about all the people who go here and I learn about Jesus.” One hope she has for the future is “to go to college and become a veterinarian.” Carolyn’s Mentor is Laura H. Her prayer partner is Ruth Hawker. Carolyn was confirmed.

Melanie Margaret Z is the second child of John and Jen. She has three siblings, Allyson, Max and Sam. She attends Old Trail School. Her favorite class is History. She likes to play soccer and cook. One thing she likes about church is, “coming and seeing everyone.” One hope she has for the future is “no more global warming.” Melanie’s Mentor is Toni H. Her prayer partner is Theresa White. Melanie was baptized on Mother’s Day. 

Seventh Grade:

Bryce Evan C is the youngest child of Ed and Sandy. He has an older sister Taylor. He attends Claggett Middle School. His favorite class is Physical Education. He likes football, running, spending time with my family, 4 wheeling, and video games. One thing he likes about church is “the nice people.” One hope for the future is “I can be a better Christian.” His Mentor is Dave W. His prayer partner is Don Calhoun. Bryce was baptized. 

Clay Kelly C is the youngest child of John and Judy. He has an older sister Taylor. He attends Highland Middle School. His favorite class is Science. He loves to play sports, particularly baseball and football. One thing he likes about church is “singing.” One hope for the future is “to go to college.” His Mentor is John M. His prayer partner is Lyla Calhoun. Clay was baptized.

Matthew Stephen G is the middle son of Bill and Naomi. He has two siblings, Tim and Ben. He attends Buckeye Middle School. His favorite class is math. He likes to go outside, explore, and do video games. One thing he likes about church is “all my friends.”  One hope he has for the future is “going to college, hopefully at OSU.” His Mentor is Tom D. His prayer partner is Susie Griffith. Matt was confirmed.

Kyle K is the second son of John and Debbie. He has two brothers A. J. and Briggs. He attends Claggett Middle School. His favorite classes are Math and Science.  He loves magic tricks, talking with friends, being outside and hiking. One thing he likes about church is “the preaching, especially when Pastor Teresa tells jokes.” One hope he has for the future is “ to get a good job and a house.” His Mentor is Reed H. His prayer partner is Dottie Randall. Kyle was baptized.

Joseph Anthony S is the youngest son of Roxanne and Joe. He has two older brothers, Mike and Greg. He attends A. I. Root Middle School. His favorite class is Language Arts. He loves sports; baseball, football, basketball. One thing he likes about church is “communion; because it makes me feel refreshed.” One hope he has for the future is “to be able to visit my Mom when she is old and care for her.” His Mentor is Evan H. His prayer partner is Sue Ochsner. Joey was confirmed in faith. 

Madeline Marie Y is the second daughter of Tom and Brenda. She has two sisters, Jacqueline and Carolyn. She attends A. I. Root Middle School. Her favorite class is Language Arts. She loves to “cheer and be with my friends.” One thing she likes about church is “everybody knows you and they are always welcoming you.” One hope she has for the future is “I continue to get good grades.” Her Mentor is Sue B. Her prayer partner is Harold Kaufman. Madeline was confirmed. 

Eighth Grade:

Emily B, Sara G, Tim G, Greg S, and Allyson Z were helpers for the class of 2007-2008.

Bill Grega and Pastor Teresa were the Adult Teachers for the class. Jenny Peacock organized special projects for the Mentors and Youth.
