WOMEN’S RETREAT ~ Sue Barker

Ladies, anyone need a break?  How does some time alone to focus on yourself sound?  How about having some good friends and beautiful scenery surrounding you while you do that?  If those elements sound like the makings of a marvelous weekend, please join us July 11-13 for a Women’s Spiritual Retreat at Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center in Fremont, Ohio.  The group of women who went on retreat last summer will be your hostesses while you enjoy a purposeful blend of community and solitude, sharing and silence, activity and rest in an effort to help us all get in touch with that woman we see in the mirror but on whom we don’t spend enough focused attention. 

Cost is $130 and includes two nights’ lodging, meals for Saturday and Sunday, and the atmosphere for reflection and prayer that you can see at www.pinesretreat.org.  Your $10 deposit is due APRIL 1 to the church office or Linda Dempsey.  Massage & Reiki will be available for an additional cost.  Please see Sue Barker or Beth Beal if you have additional questions.   

ALL CHURCH BASEBALL OUTING ~ Jill Hurst

Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, May 20th at 7:05 p.m. and plan to join the FCC family at Canal Park in Akron to see the Aeros take on the Altoona Curve.  I've reserved a block of 50 tickets for that night and because Tuesday games are two for one, our cost will only be $3 per ticket!  This is a great chance to enjoy an evening of spring weather in a beautiful ball park with some great friends.  I will need full payment at the time of sign-up; the deadline is Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day).  Bring the whole family - we hope to see you there!

April Events

Friday 25th    5:30-9:00 p.m.  Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show:  Spaghetti Coordinators are Brenda and Tom Yurkoski; Talent Coordinators are Trent and Charlette Ardrey

Tickets are on sale for the spaghetti dinner. The cost is $7.50 for individuals or $20 for a family. Three un-related people who want to come together are considered a family in Jesus name. Please see the kids for tickets.  If you have a talent you’d like to share please see Trent or Charlette Ardrey to sign up.

Do you have an unusual talent or skill?  Do you have an overwhelming need to share it with others?  Does occupying the attention of a crowd thrill you?  Well, you could do all of these things and support the church youth at the same time.

LADIES TEA ~ Nancy Madzia

The annual Ladies Afternoon Tea was held on a blustery Sunday in February but that did not hamper the event!  Our spirits were warmed by the wonderful harp music provided by Pam Root as well as the delicious hot tea, soup, sandwiches, scones and tea breads. Thank you to all who attended and generously donated $527 to Hospice of Medina County. Many thanks also to all the helpers who make this event such a huge success each year: Our servers - Ron Foster, Vern Robinson, Evan Hollopeter, Dave Watterman and Dave Griffith. Our kitchen crew: Rick Madzia and Andy Rockwell.  Our very talented Ladies who organize, plan, decorate and bake: Polly Robinson, Karen Harrington, Susie Griffith, Nancy Cressman, Brigitte Dade and Toni Hollopeter. We are already planning the next tea for Sunday, February 8, 2009 so mark your calendars!
