Trusting in the presence and guidance of the Holy
Spirit, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) seeks to fulfill its
mission as a community of faith that is a caring, spiritual center. With
faith, hope and confidence in God's plan, we began constructing a new
building. Our property is located just south of Medina at the intersection
of Routes 3 and 162.
Our plan was to have the church within the present natural setting,
thus celebrating God's beauty, an ideal uniting place.
-
A peaceful, welcoming sanctuary that is
sacred and accommodates diverse worship experiences -
A building which welcomes
those with physical limitations or hearing deficiencies -
A nursery that encourages
children to play and parents to feel secure -
A glassed-in cry-room near
the sanctuary -
A youth fellowship room
designed to encourage group unity and growing minds -
An open fellowship area with
extra stretching space for children -
Sunday school classes,
offices and a warming kitchen -
Inclusion of smaller stained
glass windows from our present church as a tribute to our heritage
-
An outside courtyard for
reflection and children's activities -
A space in which to install
the church's "voice," our pipe organ
