Week of Compasssion

LOCAL MISSION WEEKEND : SEPTEMBER 11th - 13th

There will be a local mission weekend on September 11-13. This event is designed as an opportunity to do local mission work right here inou own community. It will begin on Friday evening, when we come to FCC and, for those who wish to camp out, set up our tents. There will be an orientation and some team building in preparation for the next day. Saturday morning will begin early with a big breakfast. From there we will go out into the community and lend a helping hand where needed. We will regroup at church later that evening for dinner, a movie, a campfire and a lot of great fellowship and, after a night camping out under the stars, we'll attend an outdoor praise service at 8:16.

Our goal is that everyone in the congregation will play a part in making this mission weekend a success. Deadline for signup is August 30th. Listed below are some of the opportunities for service.

Medina County Habitat for Humanity - Brunswick House at 1528 Jefferson Avenue. The mission will probably be yard work and clean up at the site. We could use 12-15 people.

Medina County Habitat for Humanity Re-Store - Habitat Re-Store, 4930 Chippewa Road. The work will be serving customers, selling  items, stocking shelves, and taking in donations. 5 volunteers needed.

Mum Run - In the morning, decorate flower pots with the cildren and then, in the afternoon, deliver potted mums to shut-ins.

Medina County Home - Help with yard work and other jobs.

Salvation Army - Some painting, handing out bags of food, building shelves. Open to kids under 11 and adults over 60.

SPCA - SPCA we need 6 people for cleaning and bonding. Anyone can donate cleaning supplies or pet food.
